This is really interesting, yet slightly humorous on some level.

No, most of the people who belong in '99% money' clas already have it in Gold and Diamonds. No issues there.
motifayk - July 9, 2013, 1:42 pm
Most probably. The real issue is that once US looses trade leadership in technology and manufacturing exports; which China is steadily conquering, all the democratic world will definitely be in peril. They won't have trade advantage.
thecrotchetyoldcynic - July 8, 2013, 4:39 pm
Similar to the United Nations symbol?
thecrotchetyoldcynic - July 8, 2013, 4:38 pm
Highly likely.

The people who have 99% of the money now take 99% of the money they print, for I don't know money fights and felling like a big man I guess. And yes if we switched to a gold standard they would just take 99% of the gold.

In 2008 China strongly encouraged Renminbi (chinese currency) in the international market and tried making it the reserve currency. Now they will most probably push for internationally standardized trade bonds/currency with world map or some such on it.

Doctor Who, Spider-Man, Goku, Dracula and Metallica for starters
thecrotchetyoldcynic - July 7, 2013, 10:49 pm
Global currency? Interesting. I wonder what they'd print on it.
motifayk - July 7, 2013, 9:13 pm
US treasury cannot print forever and certainly not nearly enough to feed the world ten times let alone thousand. China is already making moves to create a global currency which would take out dollar as the reserve currency. Then US can't print at whim.

I was at work, gave a customer some change, and switched out a penny I almost gave. It's a 1943 wheat penny that is made of metal. It's also magnetic.
GaryO - February 24, 2013, 12:40 pm
As long as my slugs keep workin’. Hey, the pre ’84 US pennies are worth 250% more than the newer ones. Sounds like a lot, right? Only if you have a truck load. Wouldn’t mind havin’ some pre ‘65 silver quarters though. I remember when they changed over.

That's the part that still puzzles me... Perhaps the vending machines are in on it somehow.
EmilioDumphque - February 24, 2013, 12:58 am
Let me know when they fail to work in a vending machine, where they are expected to weigh what they always did.
